Join the Movement to Defeat Meningitis
Meningitis remains a major public health challenge in Africa, especially in the “meningitis belt” stretching from Senegal to Ethiopia. The disease causes devastating social, emotional, and financial impacts, with an estimated 250,000 deaths in 2019 and long-term complications for one in five survivors.
Although the MenAfriVac® vaccine has drastically reduced Group A meningitis cases since 2010, other serogroups continue to pose significant threats. Continued vaccination efforts, innovation, and collaboration are vital to defeating meningitis.
On the eve of Universal Health Coverage Day 2024, Amref Health Africa invites you to Africa Dialogues under the theme Achieving a Meningitis-Free Africa. This high-impact webinar will bring together experts to explore solutions, share success stories, and discuss strategies to achieve the WHO’s 2030 Global Road Map goals.
